"Going Through Hell" tells the story of two men - Ralph and Bike - who meet at a bar and have a one-night stand, which is OK with Ralph, but Bike wants more. They grow fight and go their separate ways, but fate forces them to spend time together, and they fall in love.
After they marry, Bike dies in an accident and Ralph is unable to cope. His therapist says Ralph must move forward with his life and not become entirely entrenched in sorrow. At the end of Act I, when the therapist asks what Ralph will do, Ralph says he is going to hell.
In the beginning of Act II, the action switches to the Underworld of Greek mythology, where Ralph has traveled to find Bike.
The staged reading is a "Pay What You Can" event at Civic Theatre. It is followed by a Q&A session between the audience, the actors, the directors and me.
I know not everyone can travel to Lafayette to watch a play on a Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. If you can attend, I'd love to see you in the audience. If not, it would be terrific if you could send some positive thoughts my way that day. :)
